Mesa do Presidente Red Reserva 2014 Dão DOC
Mesa do Presidente Red Reserve is a blend of the most typical grape varieties from Dão Region. It presents a limpid grenade color with brownish reflections and a complex aroma rich in floral, woodland fruits, cacao and spices notes, provided by the aging. The tannins are smooth and in perfect harmony with the body and volume of this wine. The aftertaste is smooth, intense and very pleasant revealing the true character of this Region and their grape varieties.
Production Technology: Manual selection of grapes at the entrance of the cellar. Pre-fermentative cold maceration (8 ºC) for 6 days. Fermentation at low temperature (22 - 24 ºC) for 8 days in stainless steel vats; 2 ""delastages"" per day. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank. The final blend was made with 50% of wine aged in French oak barrels and 50% in American oak barrels for 1 year, in order to give more complexity and body to the wine.
Suggestions: It’s perfect with lamb stew, goat or cured chesses.
Should be served at a temperature between 16 ºC and 18 ºC.
